Ed Barnes has exhibited in numerous one-man and group shows, and a number of juried shows throughout the southwest, and has been commissioned to do a number of pieces. His work can be found in both private and corporate collections throughout the country
Barnes creates works of great serenity and meaning. They are not necessarily placid; often they reveal deep intellectual viewpoints on social conditions, but they also reveal deep religious convictions and a feeling that the artist has come to terms with himself, his fellow men and nature.
Many of Barnes' earlier works reflect more of a contemporary-modern approach to his non-preconceived thematic subject matter. A number of his later works, however, reveal a relationship between his environment and himself. He has a strong spiritual conviction which is evidenced in many of his works; his masters thesis, "Moses: The Law and the Mount," for example, portrays such inner workings of his spirit.
